"Picture Perfect" is my ongoing project which explores the urgent crisis of plastic pollution in Cornwall. Each piece within this series is a recreation of iconic Cornish landscapes. These collages are made of images of plastics I have collected from in and around the locations depicted in each artwork. This collection not only showcases the breath-taking beauty of Cornwall but also exposes the harsh reality of plastic pollution within these seemingly picture-perfect scenes. Serving as a reminder of the urgent need to preserve and protect the natural world that surrounds us.

A bit more about the project…

My motivation for this project stems from a long-standing interest in environmental conservation. Regardless of the medium, my work has consistently revolved around themes of environmental awareness.

Growing up in a coastal area heavily impacted by plastic pollution during tourist seasons, I was inspired to use collage techniques, drawn from children's illustration, to create visually striking pieces composed entirely of plastic materials.

With this series I hope to convey the stark reality that our beaches are inundated with plastic waste, and remind us of the importance of conserving our natural environment.
